I've spent a week going back and forth and while a few months ago it does seem that reps could grant you the game given sufficient proof of purchase it appears that EA has now stripped them of that ability. Steam tells you to contact EA, EA wastes upwards of an hour of your time at at a time before telling you that you have to contact Steam. You can't register the key and you can't access multiplayer. It doesn't matter if you bought the game outright or got it on EA Play. ![]() It doesn't matter if your Steam and EA accounts are linked. The problem is that you can't register it. Long story short.older games like Dead Space 2 require the key to be registered with the EA account you wish to use in order to play the multiplayer, from the Steam store page:ĪCCESS TO ONLINE SERVICES AND OR FEATURES REQUIRES AN EA ACCOUNT AND GAME REGISTRATION WITH THE ENCLOSED ONE-TIME USE SERIAL CODE.
